When you think of summertime, or winter here in Guayaquil, you want cold and refreshing. It’s hot out there! Plus, something easy on the stomach is always good. Think of it… Green, vitamin c and fast! Oh, I forgot one, it’s economic too. What more can one want?

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Juice the lemons. Add all the ingredients into your blender. Blend away.
  2. Add more sugar to taste.
Or, for those of you watching your sugar intake, try different sugar substitutes. Raw sugar, or panela, as it is known here in Ecuador, works well. Just be aware that the color will change with different sugars. Some may prefer to strain before serving. We personally love it as is.

Notes

Variations:

Slushies are wonderful on a hot day. Just cut the water in half and add double ice. Some may prefer to add more sugar for a slushy version.

The adult version- add a shot, or two, of tequila, white rum or vodka. Enjoy!
